2025 Impact report

Mission

Our mission is to turn conversation into concrete action. Every encounter is a call to action - an opportunity to brainstorm and implement real steps toward change, whether as individuals, within our families, or across our communities.

We are committed to fostering deep relationships, building trust, and actively working toward a more just and equitable world. This requires us to engage in uncomfortable yet necessary conversations, challenge biases, and take meaningful steps to confront racial injustices - both within ourselves and in society.

The Impact

  • “I'm attending the meetings organized by the "Courageous Conversation" Team, since its inception in 2020, shortly after the killing of George Floyd. Through the various well-prepared meetings, I became aware of how much I'm conditioned by my unconscious biases regarding race. It was a journey, a learning process, to make the unconscious in me conscious. This requires constant and honest reflection on my behavior, the humility to admit wrongdoing and the willingness to grow. This process over the years changed many relationships, and the diversity of race became a constant source of enrichment. It creates in me more sensitivity in human relationships and more responsibility for our society.”

  • “It's always eye-opening for me to participate in these Courageous Conversations! What our brothers and sisters of color experience in their daily lives and interactions is often very different from what I experience as a white person, and I never realized it or thought about it before. These gatherings open my eyes and my heart more to the people around me, making me want to treat each one, no matter who they are or what they look like, with the dignity they deserve as children of God.”

  • “The willingness and ease of sharing was lovely, it was clear within seconds this was a community willing to listen and share in a meaningful way. Also, folks in this group are eager to act and need a push. When someone said they wrote letters to the white house another member immediately reacted, 'I should do that too, it’s scary given the potential risks, but we have to do something.'”

  • “CC has opened my eyes and consciousness to how I participate in unconscious biases, white privilege, micro-aggressions, and systemic injustice. I have done a lot of reading about these topics but talking with actual people has made them come alive in ways that books alone cannot do. We have a long way to go but CC’s contribution is invaluable and much needed.”
